Childs Pose and Chia seeds.

Childs Pose

Today’s mantra is Child’s Pose and Chia seeds. If your feeling a little bit low on energy, then try switching from your power Vinyasa asana practice to more of a restorative Yoga session and maybe try adding some Chia seeds in to your diet.  Sprinkle on your porridge or salads, or add in to your smoothie. Chia seeds are packed with Omega’s which are not only great for your body, the 3 Omega-3 fatty acids in Chia seeds have been proven in increase brain function and decrease depression. So, incorporating chia into your diet on a regular basis helps not just your physical health but also your mental health.

These little bitty seeds also assist in weight loss as well as reducing glucose levels which can benefit diabetics.1 My whole family has benefited from its addition to our meals,  the seeds could also be a solution to reducing sugar cravings. Many people consume chia before a meal to reduce hunger. Any how, if your still not convinced, take a further read and maybe pick up some next time your at the super market and try them out yourself.

Got Almond Milk?

When I lived in Canada years back, I discovered this light fabulous variation to milk. It tasted so great with any muesli or in your smoothies. But since returning back to New Zealand I haven’t been buying Almond milk as it is really expensive in the health food shops. Here is how you can make your very own almond milk. It is so easy!!  Click above on “Got almond milk” to find out how.
